TPMS Questions

I'm going to be putting on new tires tomorrow on my 2009 E350. My question is in regards to the sensors, are they pretty standard with other cars out there? The tire stores says they need to revalve the sensor and make sure that the parts are ok. Is this normal?

They are required on every car in the US from 2008 and up. It is very normal. The tire shop is servicing your TPMS sensors to avoid air leaks.
