Did The 2006 Mazda Miata MX5 Have TPMS?

In searching for a used Miata, some sellers are saying that the 2006 model has tpms. I though that cars didn't use them until 2007. Is this true?

The MX-5 Miata in 2006 did have a TPMS system on the car and used a direct TPMS system with sensors in the wheels.
