2006 Toyota Corolla Has TPMS?

Just recently picked up a used Corolla, and ironically on the way to the tire shop (2 tires needed to be replaced), the TPMS light came on. I thought cars from 2007 had TPMS? The tire shop says that the wheels didn't have any sensors. I'm really confused. Why does my car have the TPMS light but no sensor in the wheel?

It has an indirect system, which means it based off of ABS. There are no physical sensors in the tires.
