TPMS light and Vag-com

I heard that there are equipment that will allow you to mess with the TPMS light, how is this legal? Anyone have any insight on this?

With the Vag-com you can go in and deactivate it. I strongly oppose doing this, but people just don't care about their own safety I guess...
